Entrepreneur

Get up and work hard everyday—nobody is coming to rescue you.

I'll admit, sometimes opportunity rushes right up and kisses you square on the lips. But, more likely, she'll pass you without a peep—slowing her stride just enough to make some serious eye contact.

How you react next...that will change everything.

They rock.

Sometimes the good thing that the local neighborhood (or global neighborhood) desperately needs...well...it doesn't exist yet. The beautiful thing about us humans is that we're always re-imagining. Never satisfied with today's understanding of what it means to be human, friend, husband, wife, coach, explorer, scientist, artist, engineer, business leader or community neighbor.

So, when the glocal (global + local) neighborhood really needs something done, you'll witness altruistic entrepreneurs standing up, rolling sleeves up, and mustering up the courage necessary to re-imagine better lives for us all.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Where 'I' became 'we'

The Shema House is a community house based in Chicago that I co-founded in 2006. It originally was created to provide a home-base for a small band of neighborhood volunteers, and family structure for neighborhood teenage boys.

Together we learned many of the lessons that were formational to Love Without Agenda’s network. It accomplished some incredible good in the neighborhood—and is still going strong in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, providing hospitality for travelers and a fabulous live/work space for LWA’s current team.

Where we are now

Right now, we're a growing network of charitable entrepreneurs cooperating to benefit neighborhoods.

Years of experience has taught us that charitable entrepreneurs know what their neighborhood needs, but often lack access to the relational & financial resources needed to incubate & accelerate their plans. Our network is a community of belonging and best practices where entrepreneurs thrive—birthing better neighborhoods across the globe in the process.

Since our inception, we've been a loose cooperative, but the time is right to restructure and scale (click that button below for more on that). It's an exciting time for us!

Where we are going

What happens when altruism & technology collide?

Glocal happens.

We'll be an altruistic shared economy platform that brings people together to share (create, join, review, donate to, promote) volunteer opportunities and cooperate globally + locally. Charitable entrepreneurs, volunteers, donors, philanthropists and brands will all have a platform to cooperate on projects that build stronger, safer, more sustainable neighborhoods. This will eventually scale so that the people will be able to find volunteer opportunities based upon their volunteer needs & current geo-location.

I’m driven (ok, obsessed) to see it born because I know how many people it will help, and how it could re-imagine the way humanity does charity. That would be amazing, for all of us.
